Learned today from Mastodon historian @[email protected] of Germany’s 17th Century common knowledge that the people of Limerick included man-eating ManCamels, one of which was touring Germany after being captured by William III. Makes a change from pigs, I suppose.

Huge concern for potential job losses English National Opera (Chorus, orch, backstage) but also an enormous impact on the freelance opera community. Freelancers are used to vicissitudes, but the earthquake that closure of a major opera house would cause would be unsurvivable for some.
