Question under discussion at Sloan conference with Nate Silver and a few others last night… What would an NBA power play (5 on 4) be worth in a points/possession basis? Assume it’s an established rule, so teams have reached some equilibrium strategies for how to handle it.

My claim was a team playing 5 v 4 would have a 135 offensive rating (1.35 pts/poss). The league average 5 v 5 has been ~115 the past few years. You'll basically always get a good shot. And lots of offensive boards. But Kostya thought this was too high and he's smart so idk.
