Using a 3oz ball in your throwing program can have benefits that are sometimes overlooked. One being the fact that you are applying forces to the arm and that will be equal or occasionally greater than those encountered in games, better preparing you for future competition.

Do you think “stretching it out” is going to help get rid of your nagging shoulder or elbow pain?

Is your coach telling you to push or drive off the rubber as far as possible? Good chance he doesn’t have a grasp around the importance of sequencing inside of the throw. Have a macro understanding of what you’re trying to do before making micro adjustments.
