Sudanese communities face gender-based violence & ethnic targeting. We cannot sit idly by while these disturbing patterns re-emerge. Mercy Corps calls on UN member states to redouble efforts to end the conflict and bring down barriers to humanitarian response. #Sudan #UNGA2023

As we mark #PeaceDay2023 and consider (lack of) progress towards the #SDGs at their mid point, it could not be a better time to talk with columlynch and Richard Gowan about Peacebuilding for a World in Transition Devex @ #UNGA78 Join us this afternoon! pages.devex.com/devex-at-unga-…

My interview with ABC News Live for Mercy Corps on the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in #Gaza. No one can get out, basic services are cut off and little to no aid is getting in. We need safe access now to help the millions of people whose lives hang in the balance.

We have not been able to contact Mercy Corps team members in Gaza since Thursday’s communications blackout due to a lack of fuel. We’re extremely worried for their safety and wellbeing. Civilians must be protected and lifesaving services restored. #CeasefireNow

Thank you @tjames_elder for telling the story of these sleepless nights in Gaza....especially for all the moms and babies enduring the unimaginable. #CeasefireNOW

“So far, American diplomacy in this war has not delivered on the goals President Biden has conveyed: protection of innocent civilians, adherence to humanitarian law, more aid delivery. “ Simply repeating them is not enough. A change of course is needed, and fast. #ceasefirenow

My CBS News interview for Mercy Corps tonight on the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in #Gaza. Only a ceasefire and an end to the siege will be enough to save lives and pull Gaza back from an abyss of suffering. #ceasefirenow youtu.be/rmwnRqfsI1g?si…

Joined ⁦Mercy Corps⁩ staff & colleagues from other humanitarian organizations in front of the White House tonight to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. Without one, Innocent lives will continue to be lost and it will be impossible to deliver enough aid. #ceasefirenow

That such a brutal conflict has been allowed to continue and for this long – despite the widespread condemnation, the physical and mental toll and the massive destruction – is an indelible stain on our collective conscience.

As we settle in for the holidays, #Gaza is literally starving. The UN just released data that a quarter of the population—that’s 500k people—are facing famine-like conditions. This is unconscionable and entirely preventable. Mercy Corps statement : mercycorps.org/press-room/rel…

“Gaza is out of time.” - Kate Phillips-Barrasso, vice president of global policy and advocacy. nytimes.com/live/2023/12/2…

Gaza is out of time, small steps forward by the #UNSC are not enough. Humanitarians can't aid 2.3 million people under bombardment, nor replace basic services that have been cut off to civilians for months. Nothing short of a #CeasefireNOW and an end to the siege will be enough.

The central and southern #Gaza offensive is intensifying and preventing the provision of humanitarian aid on any meaningful scale. People are actively starving after 2+ months of displacement and active deprivation. My take for Mercy Corps in ABC News abcnews.go.com/International/…

I can say--with no exaggeration--that we truly have never seen anything like this. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the limitations for aid groups in addressing it are unparalleled. #CeasefireNOW

My interview with CNN International today on the catastrophic humanitarian situation in #Gaza and the lack of progress on key metrics set forth by the US government to Israel on addressing the challenges impeding aid groups from delivering assistance.
