Completely agree! If anyone wants to fund me doing this more extensively I’m down!! Frontier labs expressed interest but I’ve been busy and need some $$$. I do think it’s a huge gap in the literature and there should be constant updates every month or so

Where do biases come from when CS people make predictions on social outcomes, like math scores? Is it just biased training data or do they bring their own biases into the process? This suggests it's bad data

One of my hot takes is that if you’re a single guy looking for a partner and 99th percentile iq+ then investing in a - suitable - dating coach is one of the highest ROI things you can do to improve your life.

Stylized facts about AI capabilities that economists should know: 1. We have no standard metric for computer intelligence. Many metrics have been proposed but none have been adopted as a standard. This makes talking about capabilities difficult, it is intellectual quicksand.

An excellent paper, a beautiful abstract, and an amazing Twitter thread! But most of all, a good opportunity for AI people to learn a new word: palimpsest

I'm on the academic job market! My research examines the implications of exclusionary environments for individuals' careers, team performance, and organizations—with a focus on knowledge work. In my JMP, I study how sexual misconduct affects scientific production.

RFK Jr. has proposed directing 20% of the NIH’s budget to replication. That would be orders of magnitude more than we’ve ever allocated to biomedical replication. How much should we actually spend? And how do we ensure the money is well spent? With IFP, I investigated the ROI

I’m not overly familiar with GDP calculations but could Hedonic regressions for product quality not be replaced (after validation) with LLMs simulating consumers WTP for old vs new goods?

I made a list of forecasts of the impact of AI on economic growth over the next decade. A few observations... (🧵): tecunningham.github.io/posts/2025-10-…
