Not to be dramatic but there are certain couples that look so good/cute together. Not just physically, but like… energetically? They look like they’ve loved each other for 1000 lifetimes, idk🥹. It’s so cute. 10/10.

Assisted suicide seems a deliberately unkind term designed to inflame not promote debate. Suicide is ending your life when you are not dying. Assisted dying is about ending the life of someone who is dying.

Genuine Q: when people say we need better palliative care before assisted dying, what are they hoping for? My experience of pain management is of a vague and inexact science, that causes at least as many problems as it solves - what am I missing?

A society that doesn’t allow a compassionate end in the face of terminal illness is an affront to common decency. A society that doesn’t allow Disabled people to live safely and freely is an affront to common decency. Both are true. Both demand action and compassion

Got a big chunk of unfollows this weekend. I get it. It’s an emotional issue. I’m reading, learning but so far no one has changed my mind: framing this as if the goal is to legally “cull” Disabled people - is in my mind - likely to cause more harm than good. YMMV x

The goal in my mind is to focus on the best possible safeguarding for Disabled and vulnerable people. Assisted dying is a vital right in my view. Both things are essential x

Hopefully an unlikely nightmare, but one angle I don’t see being discussed: the bill passes, but NHS red tape prevents any actual action, leading to the private sector swooping in and it becomes an option only for the wealthy (see also medical cannabis) #AssistedDying

I’ve known and worked with Attitude is Everything for many years and they are AMAZING, but the venues who use their name as a plaster over their own inequality actually disgusts me. Anecdotally, I also have reason to believe that many venues are simply lying about working w/ AIE
