What an amazing day! Thanks to Katharine Shields for concocting the workshop and to Institute of Classical Studies (ICS) for supporting it. It was refreshing to meet like-minded colleagues to discuss strategies to promote the teaching of languages such as Middle Egyptian at UK HE institutions


ordered a spare copy of van den Hout’s Elements of Hittite ready to teach Hittite language King's Classics for the first time this year… CUP seem to think I should be doing Linear B instead?



some products of a practical session in the MakerSpace School of Advanced Study, University of London last week with my King's Classics Hittite language 1 students, who made great progress with their scribal training and copied out sentences from the annals of Muršili for each other to read!
