LOVE this paper. David presented an earlier version at our Atlanta-Athens Health Econ workshop last fall, and it was a hit!

The benefits of pharmaceuticals often spread beyond the direct patient. e.g. Hep-C treatments have reduced liver transplants opening up transplants to patients who otherwise would have died. One reason I find the price controls in the IRA very worrying. marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolu…

Today was another historic day in Malatya conducting the first ever 5-way liver paired exchange. Additionally, since August 2023 our system found and the Institute conducted 2 4-way exchanges, 4 3-way exchanges, and 5 2-way exchanges altıgether transplanting to 35 patients.

New WP w/ Andrew Bibler, Laura Grigolon, and Mark Tremblay (he/him) just dropped! We develop an approach to point identify tax compliance using changes in tax enforcement plus an additional instrument. We then demonstrate the approach with an application to Airbnb collection agreements.

Our final paper of the year at #SHESG2024 is by Michael Darden (@EconDarden) et al on how innovation in health care affects inequality in health outcomes. There is concern that benefit aren’t distributed evenly. The authors dig into that. The empirical context is Hep-C treatment.
