excited to share our new study taking a deep dive into asking how nutrient conditions affect drug sensitivity! this work was made possible by key contributions from Kyle Flickinger @Fysiologic_only Nick Rossiter and a terrific collaboration w/@cispt2, Kelli Wilson et al. at NCAT!

CoQ10 is large and very hydrophobic, which limits its bioavailability. Our new study, led by Laura Steenberge, shows that CoQ4 is a sufficient substitute for multiple CoQ functions in cells and can be targeted to mitochondria. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… #bioRxiv #mitochondria #CoQ

Yay! Our paper is out! A tour de force from superstar grad student Melissa Roberts! CRISPR screens in multiple genome-edited reporter cell lines identify mechanisms of PLIN2 and lipid droplet regulation. Brief tweetorial below 👇! 1/12 cell.com/developmental-…

Congrats to those from our Morgridge community, Roma Broadberry from the Tim Grant and Kyle Flickinger from the Jason R. Cantor Lab! 👏 #FearlessScience #RisingSparks

To maintain their potency, mRNA-based therapies require cold-chain storage. By using mineral coatings, UW-Madison BME’s Bill Murphy and his lab believe they’ve found a way to store the therapeutics at room temperature. engineering.wisc.edu/news/mineral-c…

a big congrats to Gavin for receiving an undergrad summer research award from UW–Madison Biochem in the afternoon and then a campus-wide sophomore research fellowship at the Chancellor’s award ceremony, very well deserved! super proud, keep up the awesome work!!

a huge and well deserved congrats to Kyle Flickinger for successfully defending his PhD thesis earlier this afternoon! Kyle’s passion for science was evident from our very first meeting & carried thru the years, super proud and can’t wait to see what your future holds!
