The IEF was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Pope Francis. In his Easter Sunday address he showed his commitment to peace and inclusion, 'There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression and respect for the views of others.'

Our thoughts remain with all those who are mourning his loss today and in the days to come.

Our school community will be reflecting on Pope Francis’s life of service and peacemaking when we return from Easter.

We were delighted to welcome Mark Hennessy, Ireland and Britain Editor at The Irish Times, to Lagan College today. He visited to learn more about integrated education and enjoyed a great discussion with our Year 13 Politics students💬

Our Principal, Mrs McNamee, represented Lagan College at a VE commemoration event at Stranmillis College this week. Principal, Jonathan Hegarty shared the historical fact, that the teacher training college had been requisitioned as a hospital in 1940s.
