I hope people understand that while abuse of adults is disturbing, one of the biggest youth leagues (ECNL) and their leadership covered this up for years as well. Which, in my opinion, is even worse. Leadership is the key word.

To experience this type of emotional abuse from age 14-19 still affects me to this day, as a soccer player and as a woman. Grateful for the women who stepped up to the plate and finally had our voices heard.

The players in the league deserve so much more. Abusive coaches like Rory Dames have hurt and held back too many players and people. #nomoresilence
