To summarize the extent of grief and despair in Turkey: TR's population lays somewhere around 85M. The area impacted is home to 13,5M people. Roughly every 7th person in TR is directly impacted by the earthquakes. That is, practically everyone else in the country knows 1/6

Heartbreaking to see that majority of the institutions where scientists from Turkey worked for many years in #Germany did not express their sympathies for the disaster in Turkey. Many of your current employees from the region and are severely affected. They lost their families.

I was not thinking to share honestly because they 'tweeted' after my e-mail. But on Tuesday, I sent an e-mail to the University of Groningen to share what we can do and how we can donate and why we need to send an e-mail because in the Uni we have loads of Turkish and Syrian people.
