Excited to have our latest work out today in Cell, an incredible collaboration between Cigall Kadoch @Kadochlab @Brangwynnelab Amy Strom Ajinkya Patil. We dissect the many roles of ARID1A in BAF complex function! cell.com/cell/fulltext/…

The final version of our review, "How it feels in a cell" is out in Trends Cell Biology. Led by @bonucci_martina and Tong Shu. doi.org/10.1016/j.tcb.…

Love #IDRs? 🍝 Our new work explores the link between IDR sequence, ensemble, and function - all measured in live cells using rationally designed IDRs! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Our IDR design tool (GOOSE) is available on GitHub & as a colab notebook tinyurl.com/idrdesign

I can’t recommend this course highly enough. It’s a cross between intensive astronaut training and summer camp, but for cell biology. Amy and Cliff will make outstanding directors!

this in undoubtedly true… got derailed for months earlier this year by an antibody with plenty of publications that recognized a different protein that happened to be the same exact size as my protein… wasn’t the first time either… protein design folks plz save us!

Now published! nature.com/articles/s4159… Big congrats to Jeff, Garrett, and Dan! Predict your IDR's radius of gyration or end-to-end distance at metapredict.net or predict all IDRs & their dimensions + properties at proteome-scale in seconds here colab.research.google.com/github/holehou…

This is a very cool paper and (potentially) highlights similar mechanistic pathways underlying cell-cell fusion in multiple human syncytia (placenta, bone, skeletal muscle):

Had an awesome time giving a Night Science chalk talk yesterday with Peter H Whitney… thanks Itai Yanai for putting this series together and all our friends at NYU for the discussion. Highly recommend this open brainstorm/whiteboard format.. a great addition to traditional seminars!

Perhaps worth pointing out that virtually all science to date has been communicating using 2D visualizations called "papers". So it is possible for 2D visualizations to have at least some meaning :).

galaxy brain gpt for image analysis is cut out the middle man and skip the code entirely… how do we write this into a methods section?
