Decided to make a quick sunset bank trip this evening & after breaking the ice with a small pickerel, this happened. Dragging a pumpkin chartreuse Ned Senko rigged on a Jade’s Jigs EWG weedless Ned head through the offshore weed patches tricked this 21.5” largie into eating :)

Foggy n drizzle,water at 77. No wading… beavers n snakes have taken over the swamp.. One fine bassy gurl this morn on DRT Klash 9 surface bait. I need coffee..

Snuck up on a good bass that was shallow & hanging around some bream beds looking for an early morning meal. Absolutely choked a frog that I threw near it.

Had a threesome this morning. Don’t get excited… That’s 3 largemouth bass. More later.. I need 3 cups of coffee..

Never underestimate 12-15”water full of wood n try using 9 1/2” 4oz bait 2 get em’ going.Those bass this morn beat that bait 2 death on top. Insane fun,all 3 happy release!!

Quick bank stop on the way home after dropping our grandson off so boating lessons produced one bass before heading for breakfast. Bass nailed a soft stickbait fished along the edge of an offshore weed patch. Maybe a one n done but still a 📷 beater…

I got shot down bassin’ on Wed.in same location as Tues. but had 2 go get beat up again today.. but my last cast saved me/when the bait is as big as d bass.Oh how I deserve donuts…

Let her or him go back… let them do their deal to ensure another spawn so we can all enjoy another cycle of great bass. Besides… you can actually thrive on eating donuts.

Made another quick bank stop during morning errands. I had several hits, connecting with 3 and landing 2; a 14” & 12” bass, all on the UL and a micro wacky rig. Lots of fun catching any bass on the UL with 3 lb line especially around the shoreline weed patches

Today’s mid morning bank stop yielded two fish on the UL & micro wacky rig cast to the edge of weed patches with dragon flies buzzing around. First came a very nice 9.5” bluegill followed by a chunky 16” bass. Always exciting landing chunks on 3 lb test line through the weeds

Well theCincinnati Opera was fun n all,but good to be back in the swamp…last couple days catching bass as big as my bait…LOL! Everyone have a good 4th. Cheers!

Today’s morning bank stop encountered lots of activity along the pond shoreline. After breaking off two fish on the UL, I brought out the big rod (8 lb test) & caught 2 bass on a deadsticked stickbait at spot #1 then a nice ‘gill on the UL/micro wacky rig at #2. Bye-bye Mr 🦨

Well it couldn’t b any hotter/muggy/foggy/grey at 5am this morn but mom was ready 2 munch big DRT Joker topwater. Happy release n X2 get coffee n 1 donut.

I made a mid afternoon bank trip today and though the bite was tough at first, it definitely picked up for the last 45 minutes. I connected with 10 bass but only landed 7 using a T-rigged soft stickbait cast to aerobatic fish chomping on dragon flies. Nothing huge but always fun!

Oh Man! Bazzy gurls ready 2 rock n d fog this morn! Topwater in 28ft water? Why yes actually…even I couldn’t believe it!! If there’s bait on d surface…there’s bass! Happy release!

Since I never bass on wknds,better fry chicken n hot a - - jalapeños for late lunch. 100 degrees on back deck… never ever 2 hot…ever… Lv it!

I had 2 goals for tonight’s shore trip, don’t get skunked & break in my BFS rod & reel. I almost killed both goals on the 3rd cast when a bass hit near a weed patch but it used a clump of pickerel weed to pull off. Later I caught bluegill & my 1st BFS bass. Mission accomplished!

I had an amazing weekend fishing for a worthy cause! All told, the tournament raised 60k for #ReelHeroesPHH . I’m also getting better at finding LM bass on Lake Norman! Great to see friends, including Steve Owens, who runs the kayak series for Bassmaster. Love this sport!
