After scoring #1 on the LAPD Sergeant’s exam in 1950, Vivian Strange became the Dept.’s 1st Black female Sergeant when she was promoted to that rank that year. Before retiring in 1966, she also helped establish the LAPD’s 1st Community Relations Section. #BlackHistoryMonth

News: We are are currently investigating a stabbing that occurred in Topanga Division in the area of Topanga Boulevard and Erwin St. LAPD Detectives are at scene and we are working with our MTA partners. The area will be impacted for several hours.

Detectives from the LAPD’s Topanga Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who stabbed a Metro bus driver.  Anyone with information is urged to contact Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Division Detectives at (818) 756-4820.
