In the UK every year several hundred head and neck patients have a laryngectomy as their first treatment. Raising awareness of early signs could change that.

Support groups enable patients to share experiences and build confidence, good to see face- face meetings are returning

Individual patients vary greatly. Issues such as mucous production, stoma shrinkage and skin sensitivity mean a product that suits one does not suit another. The ability to mix and match products from suppliers was valuable but is less easy now.
