Today marks a remarkable milestone in medicine as we celebrate 40 years since University Health Network accomplished the world’s first successful lung transplant. This groundbreaking achievement not only saved lives but also paved the way for countless future medical innovations! 🫁

The Toronto Lung Transplant Program has just completed 213 lung transplants in 2023. We broke our own world record for number of transplants in a single year (212 in 2019).
