🤷Should you include a “don't know” (DK) option in a survey question? ➡️Mads Andreas Elkjær & Christopher Wlezien show the exclusion of a DK option can matter, mostly for low-information respondents and on low-salience issues cambridge.org/core/journals/… #FirstView #OpenAccess

For UT Austin people/anyone around: I'll be presenting some of my racial fluidity research at IUPRA tomorrow and then Friday at the Politics of Race and Ethnicity Lab. Please attend if it's of interest! And let me know if you want to connect, have plenty of free time this week

Friendly reminder to submit your American politics paper/research design to JAWS! We're still taking submissions for sessions taking place later this semester. Applications don't require much work upfront, just some info about you, your paper, & dream discussants ✨

Very happy to share that I've been promoted to full professor and appointed the inaugural Ann and Michael Hankin Distinguished Professor of Political Science at Emory University. Thank you Emory Political Science Emory College Emory University!

Raquel is one of the best scholars working at the nexus of political polarization and race, ethnicity, and politics. Check out her work if she applied for one of your jobs! She already has secured several grants + has a R&R.

Apply to PS prep if you’re interested in applying to a political science phd. it offers a great set of resources for navigating the application process and it can’t hurt to get a little bit of extra support!!!

A major part of what makes social science a great career are the people. These two co-authors ( Dra. Bianca V. Vicuña 🇲🇽🇺🇸 Alisson Ramos) made the last few years at UCLA some of my most memorable as a political psychologist 😎 This was one of the fruits of our labor 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Attended a training on #Social Justice & #Disability today. The presenter shared this infographic and I think everyone in #academia needs to engage in self-reflection to explore their positions of power and priveleges.

It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today: – Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them.

I am devastated. I was naive. I expected that a felony record, an attempted coup, allegations of sexual assault, and down right cognitive decline would lead people from the top of the Republican ticket, to VP Kamala Harris. But, all they saw was a Black woman.
