I think after the revolution it’s probably fine if everyone everywhere doesn’t have access every day to out of season fruit and vegetables that aren’t native to their climate.

I'm not going to the trouble of deactivating this account, but I have been on here a lot less. If you miss me, I'm the same username on IG, and every now and then, I talk about books on the clock app, username hoorayla.

Veggie burgers are underrated as a vehicle for using up odds and ends (if your odds and ends are vegetables, beans and grains).

I could not be more proud to stand with this amazing group of reporters. Connecticut needs their coverage and to ensure it, we need this union I’m also proud to have been a part of forming it while I worked there. You guys are incredible ✊🏼

We, the journalists of Hearst Connecticut Media, are forming a union. We ask that Hearst voluntarily recognize our unit so we may begin negotiating a contract that benefits all parties, including our communities. Read our full mission statement here 👇

Breaking my silence on here to share that my colleagues and I are forming a union, Connecticut News Guild, with NewsGuild-CWA. Today we asked Hearst Connecticut Media Group to voluntarily recognize us.

This isn’t personal. Most of us like our jobs and our managers. But we deserve pay that matches the cost of living in Connecticut, workloads in line with our job descriptions and input into important decisions that affect our daily lives.

Want to support the Connecticut News Guild? Submit a letter to Hearst management telling them to avoid union-busting tactics and recognize our union. actionnetwork.org/letters/suppor…

I've always been a believer in the power of local and state news. Since starting here, I've been blown away by my colleagues' talent and hard work. My motivation for forming the Connecticut News Guild is so they can keep doing their work. Please support! actionnetwork.org/letters/suppor…

Here's why I want a union: I've watched way too many talented reporters leave their jobs because they couldn't afford life. Reporting shouldn't just be for the privileged or the impoverished. Also, teamwork makes the dream work.

I LOVE my job. I love this line of work, and it's been an absolute privilege to tell the stories of CT's food scene for the better part of two decades. Many of us feel journalism is more of a calling than a profession. But that doesn't mean we should accept less.

Local media is the bedrock of our democracy, but too many staff struggle to make ends meet. I support the Hearst Connecticut staff’s advocacy for higher wages and better working conditions, and encourage all parties to enter good faith negotiations to address these issues.

I've been a food writer with local news chain Hearst Connecticut Media for a little over a year now. By far my favorite part of the job is my colleagues. Connecticut News Guild is forming a union so that they/we all can keep affording to do this work. You can help! actionnetwork.org/letters/suppor…

Firing a member of our organizing committee less than two weeks after we went public with our union simply is not ok. Please write to Hearst management demanding they reinstate Adrian immediately. actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-h…
