Found the time to finish Ray Nayler's debut novel, "The Mountain in the Sea," and it is worth the time. It hits all the marks. Compelling characters, story, and world building. Intellectually and philosophically motivating. Great thinking and writing. Cannot recommend it enough.

I am a sucker for detective stories so of course I loved Michèle Laframboise's "Tears Down the Wall" in the latest issue of Asimov's SF

Arula Ratnakar cooked with this one. Thankful that I was familiar with enough of the material to not need an encyclopedia on hand while reading. Even references to cool papers on computation theory! This one gives whole new meaning to the phrase shame spiral.
