Updated "Chart of the Century" with data through June 2023. Note: Since 2000, College Tuition increased 184% which is 2.4X greater than overall inflation of 76% & 1.7X greater than the 110% increase in average wages. No wonder there's $1.8T in student loan debt Steven F. Hayward

US Court of International Trade just issued decision in case against Trump tariffs filed by Liberty Justice Center and me. All "Liberation Day"/IEEPA tariffs ruled illegal, and blocked by injunction! see link for opinion. I will have much more to say soon: cit.uscourts.gov/sites/cit/file…

Despite the stories about British stagnation, the UK's GDP per capita grew faster than median among the G8 the last 10 years. The real story is the US vs. the rest.

Correct. This is existential for America. The best opportunity to cut spending is now. If Republicans in DC refuse to do so, then they are absolutely useless.

David Murphy Douglas Irwin Quantity theory of money: 1% more money growth causes 1% more inflation on average in the long run. Fisher effect on interest rates: 1% higher inflation causes 1% higher nominal interest rates, leaving real rate fixed. Both are good fits when looking at big inflation shifts

This might become the best example of a group of academics signing on to an open letter and ending up completely, 'devastatingly' wrong. Argentina struggled for decades but now it's thriving, and the man who they said would destroy it is practically solely responsible.

Reminder: Almost 2/3 of US imports are inputs for US manufacturing firms. Imposing HUGE TRUMP tariffs on those US firms using imported inputs will raise their production costs and make them less competitive, resulting in lower market share and possible layoffs, etc.
