Virginia turfgrass managers - be aware of what Rick Brandenburg is seeing in NC. Note that Virginia Cooperative Extension Specialist Tom Kuhar reported them a few days ago in some corn trials. After 2021 'Armywormageddon', might want to at least have a game plan in place if FAW become a problem. #vaturf

🚨Fall armyworms are no joke, y'all. Hitting NC hard and fast after Debby. Keep an eye out for egg masses, caterpillars and be sure to soap flush. Pyrethroids for immediate control, diamides for long-term.

Fall armyworms are being reported in lawns and pastures across South Carolina. 🐛 If you notice caterpillars feeding or moving in large numbers during the early morning or late evening hours, you may have an infestation... hgic.clemson.edu/be-on-the-look…

Fall armyworm QOTD: Can they move from infested turf to neighboring ornamentals? Yes, they sure can. They prefer grasses but will feed on all aboveground parts of herbaceous ornamentals. Liquid products for pyrethroids (short-term), diamides provide longer window of protection.
