- Agree the frequency and nature of communications - *Thank them* when they complete a job - Invite them into your organisation's staff gatherings 2/3

- nuance your budgets for freelancers fees - you may have the 'going rates' for 2023 but will it be 2024 before whatever it is they'll be doing for you *actually happens*? - pay ' invoices immediately - ask what was *wrong* about your commission/project 3/3
