Guest speakers came to our Japanese high school credit class to teach a traditional Japanese craft called “Chigiri-e", which is art form of creating images by tearing colored paper. Guests let us use 和紙Japanese paper) for it. Students enjoyed this a lot! Teacher Support

The Japanese classes celebrated Japan's "Setsubun". Setsubun marks the arrival of spring, and people throw beans at demons(Oni) to drive away negative vibes and invite happiness.

March 3rd is Hinamatsuri in Japan. This festival celebrates the growth and happiness of young girls. Our Japanese class welcomed guests from the JSNC, the Japan Outreach Initiative, and the Consulate General. They taught us about Hinamatsuri, and we made dolls to display for it.

This month we are learning about Mafalda, Argentina’s most beloved character 🇦🇷 This strong young lady advocates for justice, equality and human rights🕊️ Our #GlobalLeaders World Languages Ligon MS enjoyed getting to know Mafalda and her friends! Participate Learning #UnitingOurWorld

The Japanese 1 high school credit class went on a field trip to the Japanese grocery store and the restaurant. They shopped and ordered what they wanted to. They ate in the Japanese style, sitting down on the floor, and were able to use chopsticks very well! 😋
