Pinus patula, native of Mexico, planted in 80's to restore Nepal's degraded hills. The species, reported to be invasive in Africa, has escaped Nepal's plantation. However, we don't have knowledge on its status & impacts. FAN's REDAA is studying its status & impact.

This primary data shows biodiversity significance of Jalthal forest. Sadly, despite some efforts of management, the diversity of forest is eroding gradually. It was a great learning experience to lead this study!

Local people in Jalthal informed population of Indian Chevrotains has dramatically declined in the forest. Some have claimed they have recently seen or even hunted. This mammal might still exist in Jalthal. I think someone could stdy here. Any thought Hem Sagar Baral sir?
