V disappointing to see MPs vote for the assisted dying bill at third reading. Shows a failure to take the risks it poses to vulnerable people seriously. A wafer thin majority for a piece of legislation that could see people wrongly assisted to kill themselves by the state though.

Only 30% of pall care is NHS funded. Given today's vote, Keir Starmer, will you least commit to dramatically increasing palliative care provision so that patients don't "choose" to end their lives because we don't give them the care that might make life worth living?

Today Wes Streeting has shared publicly his concerns about yesterday's AD vote. I agree with every word. Each £ of money used to fund dying will be a £ removed from NHS & palliative care - which is already in desperately short supply for terminally ill patients. This is the care

Michael Rosen 💙💙🎓🎓 NICE 爷爷 Paul Lewis There’s something wrong with the world when the outrage about highlighting the plight of the people of Gaza is greater than the outrage of their daily death and destruction.

BREAKING: Israel has just killed Dr. Marwan Sultan in Gaza. They dropped a bomb on his home, murdering him, his wife, and their children. He wasn’t a combatant. He was a doctor who devoted his life to saving others.

Politics UK We are living in a theater of the absurd, where politicians and the media dedicate more energy and column inches to condemning a chant at a music festival than the unconscionable violence that Israel perpetrates against Palestinians every single day

According to the BBC, they decided not to show #GazaDoctorsUnderAttack because they didn't want to appear biased towards Palestine. In reality, the BBC refused to show it because, like most of our political and media class, they're utterly in thrall to the Israel lobby.

So this week… A punk band is under criminal investigation for an anti IDF chant. An activist group have been proscribed as terrorists for opposing Israel. And we all watched a film detailing IDF and Israeli war crimes. Yet our government and media continue to support the

Children murdered. Doctors stripped. Prisoners raped. Hospitals bombed. Mass graves. International law shattered. War crimes in plain sight. Harrowing watch of the Gaza: Doctors Under Attack documentary on Channel 4. A genocide livestreamed. We are watching humanity collapse.

The media were in a frenzy over chants at Glastonbury yet what we’ve just seen tonight is what the chanting was against. BBC are complicit in genocide 💯 #GazaDoctorsUnderAttack

The BBC is in disarray. First, too cowardly to air a documentary about Gazan children. Then, too cowardly to air a documentary about Gazan medics. Then, over 100 staff write a letter accusing it of being an Israeli mouthpiece. That's why I am posting this over & over again.

Aaaaand… “palliative care” is mentioned once. Once. In 168 pages. Our 10 year plan for dying people is: - Neighbourhood teams will include hospice and palliative care staff. - Use of Personal Health Budgets for accessing hospice care.

Grateful to Matthew Doré for his excellent article explaining how in his view hospice & palliative care should never embrace or be forced to embrace the provision of #AssistedDying "The true magic of our speciality lies in its unwavering affirmation of human worth." Exactly this.

A month on from the Commons vote on assisted suicide, it’s clear that quite a few MPs were confused about the bill or influenced by misinformation. Here are 10 examples:
