‘Into the Blue’ an Indian roller flying over a lotus pool. Commissioned as a partner to Autumn Gold. I painted this during the heatwave when I was in Surrey. For the commissioner it represents air and water whilst the blackbird with the apples represents earth and fire.

‘inter monte et silva’ I don’t know why this Latin phrase came into my head, ‘between mountain and forest’ but I might keep it as the title. I’m interested in the transitional zone where as you climb, the forest gives way to different plants. The foothills. #painting #goldleaf
