The university I work for & study at has been absolutely smashing #COVID19. It has secured all casual work during this period, it has offered 6 month extensions to all HDR students, it has redefined full-time work to 25hrs a week for carers. I’ve never been so proud of ourANU.

So excited to see this research out! Such a wonderful environment to work with Mike Ryan and collaborate with some amazing scientists David Stroud, @DrDStojanovski, Traude Beilharz, Linden Muellner-Wong, BorisReljić, Tom Jackson and others! Onto the next powerhouse project :)

Read about the ATAD3 locus, a hotspot for deletions, duplications, and fusions, now emerging as one of the most "common" genetic causes of ultra-rare mitochondrial disease. Led by David Thorburn Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) cell.com/med/fulltext/S…

I am thrilled to share our latest pre-print on the function of TMEM126A- a protein mutated in mitochondrial disease that leads to optic atrophy

This Sunday we are teaming up with @DrDStojanovski lab to form the Bio21 Institute Blazers and walking 35km in the The Bloody Long Walk to raise funds for #mitochondrialdisease. Check out this video I made with @daniellahock and the legend Noah about how the walk supports our work 👇

Great to have Captain Noah start off the MCRI Mitobrainiacs and Bio21 Blazers at the start of our 35km ⁦The Bloody Long Walk⁩ on a cold Melbourne morning yesterday to raise funds for ⁦Mito Foundation⁩ All arrived at St Kilda in 1 piece albeit a tad stiff today ⁦
