Wes Streeting has failed to commit to negotiate on pay. We are left with no choice but to strike. We will strike between 07:00 Friday 25th July and 06:59 Wednesday 30th July. This will be a full walkout. Strikes are the only message that successive governments listen to.

The simpler the message the easier the sell Want to avoid the strikes Wes Streeting ? Then pay resident doctors more than their assistants! What could be simpler than that? 🦀 🦀

Notice how Wes Streeting has started quote tweeting doctors. But he hasn’t quote tweeted anyone who mentions physician associates (doctors assistants) being paid 30% more than the doctors who supervise them. Interesting that, isn’t it….

I’m not a doctor, I’m a paramedic. I can never replace a doctor, but I do often work alongside them. In the ongoing conversation about fairness in healthcare pay, one thing is clear: doctors deserve full pay restoration. This is not about inflating salaries, it’s about

Wes Streeting In all seriousness Wes, can you justify paying an assistant, with two years training, more than a fully qualified doctor? PAa now becoming "advanced assistants" paid for by the NHS, whilst our training is wretched, and we pay thousands for exams? You wonder why we're unhappy?

Natalie (@natdodman) 's Twitter Profile Photo

A whitewash. Pay is higher for an assistant than it is for a fully qualified doctor. Assistants start on £46k, doctors on £36k Now being advocated for progression to “advanced assistants”

Physician Associates are being renamed to Physician Assistants because the public was confused about their role. But here’s what’s truly confusing: A physician assistant now starts on a salary that’s nearly £10,000 more than a fully qualified doctor. Read that again. Doctors

Doctors deserve full pay restoration. Last year Labour offered a 4.25% uplift on the previous Tory offer. This was accepted as part of a pathway to restoration. Now Labour employ the same tactics as the Tories did to try and demonise doctors. It ain't gonna work. Solidarity ✊

Let's keep it simple: Do we need doctors? Yes Is this a job any of us can do? No Is it a highly skilled job requiring rigorous training? Yes Should we pay doctors fairly? Yes Should we also pay other workers fairly? Hell yes. It's not a race to the bottom. Solidarity ✊

If we didn't have all these unqualified Physician Assistants getting paid more than a qualified doctor, our actual doctors could be paid what they deserve! Physician Assistants are a con & a risk to patients' lives. End PAs & pay our doctors what they're really worth instead!🤨😡

As a specialist registrar doctor, I’m paid £29/hour after 6 years of med school, a master’s, expensive exams & 6 years on the frontline. We’re asking for me & my colleagues at the same level to be paid £7 more an hour to £36 to restore our pay. We intubate, operate, lead resus

Despite years of studying and training resident doctors are facing an unemployment crisis. This year, more than 30,000 doctors applied for just 10,000 specialty training places. Fixing the specialty training crisis is crucial – for doctors and patients bma.org.uk/news-and-opini…

A Band 7 PA/ACP working 47hrs/week incuding nights and weekends can earn £79–86k, that's equal to or more than an ST5 reg with years more training & full clinical responsibility. Same hours, same employer, but not the same stakes. This is exactly why doctors are striking.
