Day 2 of the Planning and Civ D field class to the Lake District. Today’s workshop is with ACTion for Communities in Cumbria looking at rural planning issues. We are in the newly converted Pencil Factory in Keswick.

Day3 - afternoon, planning students from Liverpool visited the urban renewal neighbourhoods in Roubaix the former textile town, four of them are the largest scale in France. Liverpool Uni Planning Society Planning and Civ D Geography&Planning


Day 3 of the Planning and Civ D field class (part 2) and we were thinking about managed landscapes, tranquility, industrial heritage and tourism. A visit to Honister slate mine really made us think about how we manage the landscape to achieve a balance between competing demands

Day 4- afternoon, planning students from Liverpool came to the famous EuraLille which pivoted on the strategic position on the European crossroad through a TGV station. 30 years on, Lille has been a role model for postindustrial places.Planning and Civ D Liverpool Uni Planning Society Geography&Planning


Day 5 morning, planning students came to University of Lille where the new town is located. Prof. Didier Paris gave a wonderful lecture about the history and transformation of territory around Lille metropole and cross border collaboration! Planning and Civ D Geography&Planning
