New paper out now in PNAS with Vishnu Murty & Ben Rottman! We found that the benefits of the spacing effect on item and associative memory depend on the variability in the mnemonic content and the timescale of the spacing intervals pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Happy to see this out in Association for Psychological Science! For us adults, what we learn is filtered by our goals and the task-at-hand. In contrary, we find that children learn the same regardless if they are trying to attend or not! Kids just take it all in. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/09…
