Doug Armstrong said with Nick Leddy, it became a numbers game. Tried working out a trade with teams that weren't on his no-trade list but that didn't work out. Tyler Tucker played a big role in this. Armstrong said Jim Montgomery is a big fan of Tucker. #stlblues

As for the roster, Doug Armstrong said all it takes is one phone call but it appears the roster is set. Other than one of the younger players pushing his way onto the roster, don't expect any other big moves. #stlblues

Armstrong mentioned if Dalibor Dvorsky makes the roster out of camp, he can start on the wing and doesn't have to be pressured into taking a center position until he's ready to do so since #stlblues now have Thomas, Schenn, Suter, Sundqvist and Bjugstad down the middle.

Doug Armstrong on why Pius Suter: "Just his versatility. He obviously had a very good offensive year, his best goal-scoring year, but we think that he can come in here and provide us depth at that center ice position that certainly changes out center ice complexion." #stlblues

Doug Armstrong said Pius Suter "was on out list of centermen to discuss. When the market hit, we really connected hard on the night of the 1st. ... We did our due diligence with him, he did on us. We had a conversation on the 2nd with the coach, the player and myself." #stlblues

Armstrong on Leddy: "It became a numbers game. One of the things too is the coach who selects who goes over the boards a big Tucker fan." #stlblues

Pius Suter was always on the radar for the #stlblues to target in free agency, and taking a shorter-term contract makes sense for both the player and team: thehockeynews.com/nhl/st-louis-b…

#stlblues 2025 1st rd pick Justin Carbonneau on already being a fan fav.: "Since Day 1, I felt the support. Even when I got to the airport, some people said, 'Welcome to St. Louis.' It meant a lot to have the fan base behind you. I can't wait to play with that jersey on one day."
