This is the first time I recall Hawthorn FC being involved in the AFL season opener since 1991. On that occasion, we got belted by 15 goals....by a team that had never even played a game before ...but still ended up winning the flag!

Went to see Ball Park Music last night at The Forum. The song that really took the roof off is an unintentional Victorian public policy lesson on how to alleviate excessive urban congestion! Saw them once before at the same venue in 2011--that time supported by Loon Lake.

Just realised that I missed the game I've been waiting all season long for. Pity about the scoreline, 2-2 would have been more fitting!

Brian Wilson finally joins his brothers. Vale to a true genius. I'll have Pet Sounds and Smile on high rotation today.

Perverse incentives for gratuitous co-authorship and regression of science. Six of my top-10-cited GS publications were solo. This trend runs parallel to greater cronyism in Universities--that is no coincidence. Society is poorer and dumber as a result. youtube.com/shorts/fAMU8AW…
