The UK Government is currently training an soldiers from an army which is committing war crimes and genocide, from a country of which we have just sanctioned ministers - we would not train any other army of a country we have sanctions against.

I'm delighted the government has accepted my amendment to make hate crimes against LGBT+ and disabled people aggravated offences, and will now table an amendment in the House of Lords to make it happen. Here's a bit of my speech on why this change is so important:

Terrorism powers should never have been used to aggravate criminal charges against Palestine Action activists and they certainly shouldn't be used to ban them.

Have now heard what the new PIP deal is. It's for others to disclose and every MP must make up their own mind, but to me it's insufficient when better options have repeatedly been put forward and ignored. I will be voting for the amendment/against the bill, alone if necessary.

The concessions on the Welfare Bill are welcome. The promise to scrap of PIP charges are the right thing to do even if at the last moment. However, it is now not clear what the bill even stands for, the government should withdraw it and place a new bill in front of Parliament.

๐ŸšจBreaking: Kent Police have doubled down after pro-Palestine protesters were questioned for holding flags and placards. A spokesperson told Declassified: "It is a criminal offence to carry or display items that may arouse reasonable suspicion" of support for Palestine Action.
