Will Baker (Georgia Tech Baseball) hits his second home run of the season, giving the Y-D Red Sox an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. His home run traveled 363 feet, with an exit velocity of 94 mph.

Chris Hacopian of Texas A&M Baseball laced a 97.5 MPH line drive single in the Cape League-MLB Draft League All-Star Game on Monday. In his first AB back for Y-D Red Sox, he smacked another ball for a single at 90 MPH. He’s been unreal this summer.

Michael Catalano threw an impressive 3.1 innings for the Y-D Red Sox last night, striking out 6 batters and walking none. Most impressive? The Oklahoma Baseball right-hander did not fall behind in the count to any of the first nine batters he faced.

Jayce Tharnish (Jayce Tharnish) will debut for the Y-D Red Sox today, leading off and playing left field. He slashed an insane .403/.461/.597 at St. Bonaventure, good for a 148 OPS+ in the offense-heavy A10.

The view from Veterans Field as Y-D Red Sox looks to bounce back from a two game skid on the road at Chatham. Catch Leo Tesler on the pregame show at 6:30 and Luke Burgess, Anna Watson and me on the air at 6:45 for a 7 pm first pitch. 📻: capeleaguetv.com/?B=2469444

New UCLA Baseball transfer Will Gasparino (Will Gasparino) will be in the Y-D Red Sox lineup batting 5th tonight. He's laced balls hard seemingly every time out, and he has walked at an 11.1% clip. That .176 BABIP will have to even out eventually, maybe even tonight vs. Chatham.

Connor Capece of Creighton Baseball will make his second straight start at catcher for the Y-D Red Sox tonight vs. Brewster. In 50 games at Creighton last season, he slashed .349/.420/.477 good for a 116 OPS+ in the Big East. Should be nice addition to this Y-D lineup.

The first relevant pitching trade of deadline season was completed on Thursday, with the Orioles sending Bryan Baker to the Rays for the 37th overall pick. Baker is amidst arguably his best season, aided by a high-grading four-seamer and changeup per Execution+.
