Excited to share - EcORep! Now you can simply electroporate a PCR product into E. coli and let the linear DNA replicate orthogonally in the cell. EcORep can be used to evolve proteins rapidly and continuously! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Our 2 bridge RNA papers are finally published in nature! Check out the incredible CryoEM structures, they're truly beautiful. A years-long rollercoaster ride, it's hard for me to imagine a more exciting project than this. Thank you to Nicholas Perry, Patrick Hsu, and our amazing team!

Our work on bridge recombination is out in nature today. We are especially excited to share our structural work in collaboration with hnisimasu. We show that this enzyme makes and breaks a Holliday junction, using more (!) RNA-DNA base-pairing to drive the reaction forward 🧵

Sharing my first 1st author paper, now published in Science! For my PhD I engineered CHARM, a compact, enzyme-free epigenetic editor which can be delivered via AAV vector to reach the brain. This work was done in Jonathan Weissman's Lab with Tessa Bertozzi and Elaine Wu science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

For 25 years, the Toll-like Receptor pathway was considered a series of distinct protein complexes that drive inflammation. Today, we report that the entire pathway, from receptor to transcription factor, is executed from within one complex—the myddosome. nature.com/articles/s4158…

In the genomics community, we have focused pretty heavily on achieving state-of-the-art predictive performance. While undoubtedly important, how we *use* these models after training is potentially even more important. tangermeme v1.0.0 is out now. Hope you find it useful!
