Once again reminded that the strategies used to fix/control gender and women's bodies today are enforced through mechanisms of racial control (segregation, criminalization, medical gatekeeping) and no one gets this like Black feminists doing abolition & reproductive justice work.

Happy Pride! Excited for you all to read Nwanne’s personal essay on The Republic, which I had the pleasure of editing! Nwanne writes about his childhood & adult experiences navigating socio-cultural spaces as a sexual minority in Nigeria. rpublc.com/june-july-2025…

It is an injustice. My mother, my protector, my guide. My mother left me without goodbye, after we planned to meet in July, excited to tell her all about my research trips. My last interaction with her was a 3-second wave on a video call! How can I do this world without Mommy?!

The other day, I and a few other feminists brainstormed over what minority centered digital platform could look like; forums and chatrooms came to mind. According to Ololade Faniyi's Reimagining Feminist Digital Worlds, we aren’t alone in that conclusion. rpublc.com/june-july-2025…
