I used to write about football, ice hockey and music. Nowadays I just moan about how none of them are as good as they used to be.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening at the ‘Celebration of Nottingham Football Fanzines’ event hosted by LeftLion Magazine Nottingham. Here’s Bob Stevens💙 (Brian), myself (The Tricky Tree) and Rich Fisher (Forest Forever) reminiscing about the days when #NFFC were truly magic on and off the pitch 😎

At the end of this clip is my favourite Cloughism (OED, I’m coming for you 😉). I even paraphrased it in my wedding speech - and got away with it! Then. Now. Forever. An absolute genius. #NFFC

Seismic happenings in #Rushcliffe. I never thought I’d see the day when a non-Conservative was my MP. Parachuted in,Ruth Edwards was the worst kind of political careerist who made little effort to engage with the local electorate. Let’s hope James Naish learns from her mistakes.

So understanding and appreciative of customer’s feedback and criticisms, in fact, that they’ve tuned off comments on Twitter. Some way to take ‘full responsibility’.

Yesterday was special, and this coming Friday promises to be equally so. An evening of reminiscing and remembering the great Brian Clough on the 20th anniversary of his passing. Don’t delay, get your tickets today! #NFFC

A big thank you to Arun Verma for having Young Man, Ben from the Friary and myself on BBC Nottingham Sport last night to talk about Friday’s fundraising event. Tickets still available. To hear about what’s planned - and THAT #NFFC win at Anfield! - listen here bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0j

My first ever Boxing Day fixture, sat in the old East Stand with my dad as over 47k crammed into the CG. Today he’ll be listening in the warmth at home but I’ll be there alongside my two boys to experience what, for me, is always the most special day of the season. #NFFC

Ahead of tonight’s big game, dug out this beauty of a programme from Liverpool’s first post-war visit to the WFCG, an FA Cup third round tie in January 1949 which finished 2-2. Who would be happy with a similar result this evening? #NFFC #LFC #NFOLIV

There’s us on Tuesday night and Palace to Doncaster the night before. Two of the longest trips for supporters, but both chosen for the two midweek evening games. How? Why? is this allowed to happen? #NFFC The FSA

It’s 74 years since #NFFC last visited Exeter City FC in a competitive fixture. Back in 1951, ‘Club Chatter’ must have regretted highlighting Forest’s attack ‘not displaying its earlier rhythm and punch’ as we hit five without reply. Tonight, I’ll happily take a scrappy 1-0! #ECFC

So, (at least) five consecutive games on live TV for #NFFC - Spurs to Leicester inc. When was the last time - if ever - that happened? And yet, according to some, we’re so boring to watch
😉😎 (The Forest Preservation Society - one for you?)
