Pleased to see that I’ve annoyed the Trots Stalinists and Antisemites on this thread. Truth hurts doesn’t it ? And as regards the deselection threats bring it on !

Ken Clarke savage on his own government: ā€œif this shambles goes on much longer I hate to think where populism and extremism will take us next in this democracyā€

My votes tonight will be in the best interests of my constituents and my country. I was elected to safeguard their security and economic wellbeing and nothing that falls short of that will do.

Backstop was agreed by UK/EU as the insurance policy to avoid a hard border in all scenarios. We hope it will never be used, or be replaced quickly by a future relationship agreement. But it is necessary and tonight’s developments at Westminster do nothing to change this. #Brexit

Well he’s at odds with whole of food and drink industry. We’re clear that we can’t properly service retailers or leisure businesses. Within days of a no-deal of Brexit shops will be rationing products, deliveries will be interrupted, and fresh food will be in short supply.

I fear that if Ms Mordaunt has said this she is wrong. Rich countries have a moral responsibility to help the poor from public funds and to ensure they are spent wisely. Sadly, if we follow Ms Mordaunt’s views on Brexit we’ll have less money and less influence to help

Simply because we would have to renegotiate all our trade agreements. Our lorries would no longer have free access across EU borders. Our EU suppliers’ lorries would wait in queues to get here and our common agreements on medical standards wouldn’t operate. Just get real JH-B

ā€œThis new Malthouse doctrine is really the old hardline Brexit delusions in shinier shoes. It is the bluff that Britain holds all the cards, and that if we show enough contempt for treaties and economic logic, Brussels will be intimidated into granting favoursā€¦ā€

They’ve already shown great flexibility. It’s we who’ve had the red lines: we who’ve asked for all the advantages of membership without reciprocity: we who’ve been rude and rigid: and we who’ve sought to blame the EU for our own stupidity and ignorance.

Mrs May really has to include Parliament into her plans. She has to accept there is no way ā€˜no deal’ will be supported so she needs to ask for time to work out what can be delivered. Otherwise the people’s vote is only option. Using ā€˜no deal’ as a threat won’t work.

Mark Francois, who tells Remainers to ā€œsuck it upā€ claimed Ā£7.87 on ice cream, Ā£4.36 on bags of sweets, Ā£3.24 on Kit Kats, Ā£2.68 on Mars bars, Ā£1.28 on Snickers bars, and 96p on wine gums. On another visit, he spent Ā£5.04 on Mars bars, Ā£3.24 on Kit Kats and Ā£2.42 on a Pot Noodle.

It is difficult to take Nadine Dories seriously. She doesn’t appear to have any strong links with reality yet she suggests we should prefer her opinions over those of almost every major business leader, economist, and environmentalist. What’s got into her?

Whatever your view of Scot Nats, it’s difficult to believe the UK Government is busy drumming up business and trade when they’re trying to ditch our membership of the world’s largest trading community and have produced no signs of replacement deals with anyone else

All Remainers in the nation are proud of the courage and dedication of Madeleina who speaks for UK's Remainer youth & for us oldies the indefatigable Stephen Bray outside Parliament. History will remember their true British internationalist spirit.

It is a common thread with Brexiteers. They rely on prejudice, other people’s comments, gut instincts, popular misconceptions, the Sun - anything except proper research, reading documents, and listening to evidence

John Deben (@lorddeben) 's Twitter Profile Photo

No. But he’s right as usual. Brexit is a damaging self-inflicted disaster and its supporters will not be forgiven as those least able to bear it discover what they have done were we to leave the EU

John Deben (@lorddeben) 's Twitter Profile Photo

No Andrea you’re not doing your duty as an MP which is to use your judgement to do the best for your constituents. Destroying their future, reducing their influence, and removing their opportunities can’t be excused by citing a vote 3 years ago. You’re an MP not a cypher
