Chasing waterfalls (and Oxford Earth Sciences undergrads) around NW Scotland with Lot Koopmans and Alex Lipp

Coming to the end of an excellent #Goldschmidt2023. It has been brilliant catching up with many people, having fab discussions on #lithium #pegmatites & #rareearths. Highlights included keynotes by Anita Parbhakar-Fox & Dr Melanie Finch & great LiFT presentations. Tired now!

Our last presentation for the morning session is from Lot Koopmans, who studies LCT pegmatites, which supply the majority of the world's lithium and caesium. Lot's research examines how these rocks form and where they can be found!

Stunning first day of #geology #fieldwork with Oxford Earth Sciences 2nd year students in #Assynt ☀️ Scottish weather surprisingly nice so far..?!
