Did you know - the High School opened on 11 March 1850 in Chesterton House in Loughborough with 33 pupils and moved to Burton Walks on 26 September in 1879 as the Girls’ Grammar School. LHS now has 556 pupils! Below is a photo of students outside the School in 1891. #TBT #LHS175

Martyn Gidley (LGS 1987) will play for the Over 50s at the Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka! Having played in England and South Africa, he has 24 wickets for England and is ranked 16th on the IMC list of most wickets taken! The World Cup runs from 9-23 February - good luck Martyn!
