Loved the thought-provoking discussions at the FWO expert meeting on formalizing knowledge in clinical and health psychology! Also thanks to @GeertCrombez for giving me a whirlwind tour of Leuven's hotspots! 😊 Health Promotion UGent

Hi! 👋 We’re looking for input from people with lived experience (current smokers, recent ex-smokers) to help us develop a ‘computational model’ of when and why lapses happen. Interested? Click the link for more info and to complete the screening survey: redcap.tuni.fi/redcap/surveys…

Academic publishing is in deep trouble. We all know it: paper mills, thousands of Special Issues, retractions, skyrocketing APCs... What is going on? Dan Brockington , @HansonM90 , @pagomba & me we have a preprint just out, with tons of data. A 🧵 arxiv.org/abs/2309.15884

In this new blog, I write about: 1. All that's wrong in academia—including bad papers, broken peer-review, the publishing industry, and precarious contracts. 2. How important it is *not* to become a cynic. 3. And my personal antidotes to cynicism creep. eiko-fried.com/antidotes-to-c…

38 years ago a woman in Coventry sent a letter to some scientists. That letter went on to be the most important in Alzheimer's research. Last year, I met Carol Jennings, who wrote it. 1/ thetimes.co.uk/article/e78c47…

Three years ago, I set out to create a DAG for my research but found limited guidance. This led to a scoping review, including an illustrative case from health psychology. I hope it helps researchers explore and use DAGs in their work!
