#UKSF24 Prof Terry Quinn - excellent presentation challenging the stroke community to “zoom out”… rather than focussing in, specialising too far and working in silos. Priorities - recognising multimorbidity, frailty awareness, social determinants, rehab and life after stroke.

Great additional rehab time delivered by technology enabled gym/hub operating as an open gym- pts able to ask to come up to the gym to supplement ‘routine’ therapy 👏👏 #UKSF24. Be great to know how much of it is the open gym approach, or the tech. Probably a combo #UKSF24

Is there a way we could set up/access a grant scheme for this type of equipment across the UK? Hospital settings and leisure centres. Trusts struggle with the costs. This would accelerate delivery of intensity Stroke Association David Hargroves 💙 Rebecca Fisher #uksf24

What needs to be in place for telerehab to be successfully offered and used as an adjunct within therapy. This is about offering hybrid models, not replacing therapists #UKSF24

Clinicians attitude to and confidence with telerehabilitation is key in relation to uptake. TR champions helpful. We need to help our colleagues in this movement and understand our own biases and concerns #UKSF24

Nice summary of the recipe to increase intensity. It’s not going to be one answer- it’s a mixture of appropriate ingredients depending on pt need, goals and choice #UKSF24

12 wonderful participants and 24 mince pies in our last open gym before Christmas today. Such an efficient way to see lots of people, pt led, lots of lovely sharing and camaraderie and fab feedback Dorset Stroke and Neuro Service (DSNS)

Great first FES clinic for Dorset Stroke and Neuro Service (DSNS). 2 devices loaned for a trial. 4 lots of tears for the first ‘normal walk’ since a stroke 14 years ago and 1 we hope to avoid or delay injecting. Time for me to step out and junior physio to step in to work alongside B7 physio and orthotist 🚶

You know it’s been a good fortnight when the arms send you chocolate! 💪💪Thankful to another fantastic cohort who smashed our upper limb group over the last two weeks! Outcome measures all improved, goals met, thousands of reps counted and lovely connections made Dorset Stroke and Neuro Service (DSNS)

Some nice feedback and early data from the upper group that finished last week. Outcome measures coming next, but they blew our socks off! Have described the programme and our wonderful participants from our 3rd cohort! 5/6 people had a rehab companion with them as well

Yesterday our ASU and SRU ran simultaneous sit-stand groups. In 45 mins the 2 groups racked up an impressive 748 stands between 12 stroke inpatients (some of which are using ross return transfer aids). Proud of the team for embracing this approach 👏 . Next step CV circuits group
