This fun video explaining everything you need to know about Comet A3 and how to spot it! Featuring Madeline Lam a PhD #astrophysics student from Trinity & illustrated with photographs from the astronomer Yuri Beletsky. Watch now and don't miss this #Cosmic event! 🌌 #CometA3 #Sky

We did it! The Trinity College Dublin TCD_physics team accepted the School’s Advance HE Athena Swan Charter Silver Award today! Thank you to all who made this happen, especially to the Trinity College Dublin #edi office for their support. Prof Lorraine Leeson, PhD

Paper day! REASONS ALMA and SMA survey results: the largest sample of 74 resolved exocomet belts revealing the structure and evolution of extrasolar Kuiper-belt analogs, the ice reservoirs of planetary systems! 🧊 See Trinity College Dublin release below, paper here: tinyurl.com/reas25

Astrophysicists led by a team from Trinity College Dublin have imaged a large number of exocomet belts around nearby stars. Crystal-clear images from the team’s project show millimetre-sized pebbles from within the belts emitting light. Read on Silicon Republic here: siliconrepublic.com/innovation/rea…

Observations of dust and pebbles in 74 star systems hint that planetary migrations might be more common than we realized. Research from Luca Matrà Trinity College Dublin, Steve Ertel Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, + colleagues. Comments from Sharon Montgomery PennWest University. eos.org/articles/dusty…

These amazing people have raised over €1250 euro for Children's Health Ireland Crumlin and UNICEF Ireland through the annual Trinity College Dublin TCD_physics staff vs student charity football game. Thanks to Luca Matrà + the Trinity Astrophysics group for organising!

The James Webb Space Telescope has discovered its first exoplanet – TWA 7 b – which is similar in mass to Saturn. Prof. Luca Matrà from TCD_physics was involved in the landmark work. Read more at: tcd.ie/news_events/ar…
