BC's coastal beaches are treasured by people and known worldwide. Garbage & debris on beaches pose health risks to marine life and coastal communities. 8 new beach clean-up projects will help to clean 1,400 kilometres of coastline and create 630 new jobs. Surfrider Foundation

At Surfrider Vancouver we pick up more cigarette butts than any other type of waste on Vancouver's beaches. 450,000 butts a day are littered in the city! This whole orca sculpture is made with them.
