Shark depredation is an increasingly hot topic in recreational fisheries, especially in Florida. We studied these interactions between great hammerheads and tarpon in Bahia Honda, FL Keys, published in American Fisheries Society Marine and Coastal Fisheries. doi.org/10.1002/mcf2.1…

New paper lead by Maurits van Zinnicq Bergmann, PhD we used individual based modelling and telemetry to understand the roles of predation risk and competition in driving space use by a shark and ray community.

Our new paper in Marine Biology describes multi-year Lizardfish #isoscapes for the continental US. Lots to be done with this, including #predator assignment models w/ Lucas Griffin Jake Brownscombe tinyurl.com/yc3wwhnp #stableisotopes #biogeochemistry #movement

Climate change is altering bull shark migrations. Our new paper documents 40 years of observed change in the Gulf of Mexico. tinyurl.com/yzcvm9aa w/ #PhilMatich Dr Tobey Curtis and others

I have a new survey I’m launching to understand the impact of depredation in coastal waters between North Carolina and Maine. In our next research profile, Lucas Griffin—an assistant professor at University of South Florida— discusses the role of acoustic tracking in studying the migration of Atlantic tarpon. Read more: bit.ly/3WmPcyf

In the next workshop, Lucas Griffin and Jonathan Rodemann from University of South Florida will be discussing relative habitat selection and resource selection functions in aquatic acoustic telemetry! #2024OTNSymposium
