Excited to share our latest work! We developed a new method for studying RNA localization via proximity labeling: OINC-seq! In contrast to other proximity methods, labels deposited on RNAs are read directly by sequencing without a need for biotinylation. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

today i visited my incredible collaborator Dan Eberl in Iowa, and learned how to do electrophysiology of the fly "ear". no, i can't do it, but at least i learned how. its actually not too complicated, but he's had decades to perfect his craft. 🪰

apparently i am currently not too far from this house. next time i'll visit!

my side vocation as fly courier. i brought a bunch of nyc flies to live in iowa, and bringing a bunch of iowan flies (four different species!) back to live in nyc. also, awesome parting gift from the eberl lab, a milk bottle!! always wanted one for my collection of stuff. 🪰
