Truly stunning animals that we know way to little about. SLU Wild Research European Tracking Network Ocean Tracking Network

Had a nice chat with Amanda at Ocean Tracking Network a few weeks ago regarding how I got into tracking and the work I'm currently doing together with Umea Telemetry Group, Tomas Brodin & Daniel Palm and many others at SLU Wild Research and our awesome collaborators. Tracking is teamwork!

Excited to see Dr. Palm’s new #browntrout paper out #openaccess . Low survival for hatchery reared trout suggests that stocking is likely not the most efficient way to recover natural populations. Technical development helps us push the boundaries of aquatic tracking. That said, so does compatibility between manufacturers. Imagine a future with fully compatible state of the art technology. That would be awesome! Please fill out the survey from European Tracking Network 🐟🐡🦈🐠

Who is behind the project? 👀 We are Lotte Pohl(Lotte Pohl), David Casals (David Casals Blanch) and Lotte Dahlmo (Lotte Dahlmo), three early career marine biologists! Let us introduce ourselves 😊

📢First ETN datasets are now available through GBIF @biodiversity.social/@gbif! Discover 507,000+ fish tracking records from Belgian waters, collected using acoustic telemetry via #LifeWatch Flanders. A milestone in making biodiversity data more accessible! 👉tinyurl.com/meft6cjm

Mongolia fish tracking was a huge success. Local scientists, students and rangers taught us so much about these special fish and made it possible. So many breakthroughs for #taimen #lenok and #amurpike and even more new questions. Wild Salmon Center Umea Telemetry Group Petter Lundberg

Sampling and tagging expedition to far-east Mongolia. 16 species collected for the Naturhist.riksmuseet, and in total 60 #Lenok trout, #Taimen and Amur Pike tagged. Fortunate to work with such great people at SLU Wild Research Wild Salmon Center and #WSCC. #telemetry #ichtyology
