I’ve lost too many friends to depression in my life. It takes guts for Fetterman to admit he needs help in the public eye, knowing the hideous mockery that will come to him from the Maga world. Better people will salute this courage.

1. I have been getting the question "Who's Uzi" on all my social media platforms since I posted my last video. It's weird how these childrens names have already been starting to get forgotten in less than a year. But I will be glad to remind everybody who Uzi is.

Love this tip. Also loved the tip from lisa rapaport about doing the hourly math on an assignment--even going so far as to sit down with a kitchen timer to figure out what your hourly rate REALLY boils down to.* *A $300 news story might be more cost effective than a $1200 feature

I see similar things happening throughout CA, too. People say they want the housing crisis solved, that they are tired of seeing encampments of unhoused individuals, and then protesting measures that offer to solve it. NIMBY, indeed.

A doctor called one trans woman “it.” A nonbinary person was grilled about their pronouns during an ultrasound. A trans masculine person fled Tennessee as lawmakers restricted care. We told the stories of trans people navigating health care. Paywall free wapo.st/3Zcf7bg

IMO, one of the worst amplifiers of the infodemic is the fact that health department & CDC employees are forbidden from speaking publicly & to the press. When we muzzle experts closest to the data, the gap is filled by pundits & charlatans. Imagine if we’d let experts speak.

I want to say this. Pay for your news. Support public radio. Subscribe to the NYT and others. Journalism matters. It’s been bartered and discredited by those who stand to benefit. But everyone has the power to change that.

HUGE news! New Jersey Gov. Murphy just signed EO326. This makes it a safe state for trans refugees and providers fleeing other states. NO resources can be used in out of state extradition or investigations. It now joins the safest states for trans people in legal protections!
