The weight of neuroscientific evidence has demonstrated that the brain is organized into distinct cortical areas, which perform dissociable sets of information processing operations There are additional ideas about how the cortex may be organized, including smoother

If you like these, and are going to OHBM there's still time to register for our whole day educational symposium on cortical imaging: spanning acquisition, to image processing, statistics, structural covariance and genetics, biomechanics and deep learning on surfaces!

Graduation day as a dual trained paediatric and adult INR. Don’t know how I got so lucky with these colleagues ⁦SickKids Paediatric Neurovascular Program⁩ with the legends Prakash and Prof Schroff. I don’t say this lightly but ⁦Carmen Parra-Fariñas⁩ is the best and kindest colleague I’ve ever had

This year OHBM I will be presenting "Uncovering the asymmetry of common temporal lobe folding variants". These folding variants were characterised through hierarchical surface registration. Come and check out poster number 1834, session 3&4! 🧵1/8 #OHBM2024

I am super excited to say that come September I will be joining Imperial College London as a Lecturer in Bioengineering 🌟 I have PhD studentships available (home fees) to work on methods combining MRI and microscopy for microstructure imaging. Please get in touch if interested!

Always check the sphenoid wings on MRI in patients with refractory epilepsy! Temporal encephaloceles are an increasingly recognized cause of refractory epilepsy. If seizure activity can be localized to the encephalocele surgery has good outcome. #MedEd #radres #FOAMed #Radiology

Happy science fact of the day: It's a year since the first Imaging Neuroscience paper was published, with 280 papers since then. Hence in just the first year, over half a million dollars has stayed within academia, rather than going to Elsevier [shareholders etc].

I’ve been a hippocampus man my entire research career 🍤🧠👨‍🔬. When I first read Yann LeCun's “JEPA” white paper (openreview.net/pdf?id=BZ5a1r-…), I knew I’d found a cornerstone. I’m pleased to finally share my preprinted Perspective! osf.io/preprints/psya…

I'm still in shock, but so excited to return to University of Oxford next year with a Wellcome Early Career Award. Here is to five years of cerebellar ultrasound research with Miriam Klein-Flügge 🧠 @mkflugge.bsky.social and my other stellar collaborators! Thank you to everyone who helped me on the way. 🥳🎉🧠 x.com/WesternuWIN/st…

Delighted about my European Research Council (ERC) grant EARTHWORM and particularly the research it enables! The focus will be on combining MR physics, real-time MRI and sensors to embrace rather than stop peristaltic motion during imaging and to investigate the intertwined relation ->

1/Nothing is more CENTRAL to reading an MRI than finding the CENTRAL sulcus? How do YOU find it? Are you just using gestalt when you say “frontal” or “parietal”?  Time to recenter your search pattern with this thread on how to find the central sulcus on a brain MRI!
